Energy Efficiency of Pneumatic Systems

How much compressed air does a pneumatic system really need, and where does the energy go? A hands-on course on measuring, analysing and reducing the air consumption of pneumatic drives and machines, from the single actuator to the whole line.

Dates to be announced

What you will learn

  • Where energy is lost between the compressor and the actuator
  • Air consumption of pneumatic drives and how to measure it
  • Pressure level, sizing and oversizing of cylinders, valves and tubing
  • Leakage detection and quantification
  • Efficiency measures on the demand side and how to estimate their savings
  • Simulation of pneumatic systems and using it to compare variants

Hands-on content

  • Measurements on test rigs in the lab
  • Exercises with simulation tools
